a brick wall heart

brick wall heart

I opened my heart
hoping that you will see
but instead you flee
are you afraid to find
yourself inside?
so I pile my bricks
higher around me
but no, you never meant to start
to break it apart

oh, the pain of waiting
as I slowly harden.
